I am a Cumbria based graphic designer with over six years of experince working both in house and within a design studio. During this time I have worked with a wide range of clients from large multinational companies, to smaller, more local businesses. Over the years I have also produced various pieces for a selection of freelance clients.
I have a strong background in design for both print and digital and have experience with web development and motion graphics work. Over the past four years I've become more focussed on web design and digital media. Currently I am working on a number of projects in order to further my knowledge of front-end development and User Experience design.
In 2011 I graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in Graphic Design. I also secured a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design from Lancaster & Morecambe College prior to that. After graduating from University I was employed as Lead Designer for a chain of sports shops and ecommerce sites, based in the North East. Then I moved on to work within a busy graphic design studio, working across a range of projects and mediums. Currently I am employed as a member of the Design & Product Development team at Wax Lyrical based in Cumbria.
I was brought up in the small village of Scales, just outside the market town of Ulverston and lived there until moving to Newcastle to undertake my degree. In 2016 I moved back to Cumbria and now live in the village of Lindal-in-Furness.
I can most often be found with either a sketchbook or camera close by and enjoy dreaming up and developing new project ideas.
As a keen cyclist and hiker I love spending my spare time enjoying all the Lake District has to offer. This has also been a key element in my decision to move back to the area.
In my current employment I work within the Design and Product Developement team. I mainly work across product and packaging design projects, branding, editorial layout and POS. I am also involved with the art direction of lifestyle photography and 3D visualisations.
While working at Coffee the projects I worked on were varied and covered such areas as website and app design, email templates, branding and brochures. I produced design concepts and subsequently presented them, both internally and to external clients.
I was employed as Lead Designer and worked on all of the marketing across the in-house brands, Start Fitness, Football, Cycles and More Mile clothing. This consisted of both online and print based material such as magazine adverts, brochures and POS for the retail shops. One of my most successful projects was the development of new templates for the email marketing campaigns.
